Pioneering smart money management
As our Founder and Managing Principal, Jeff remains directly connected with Grand Wealth’s clients to help them accomplish more for themselves, their families, and their communities through his work as a Senior Financial Advisor.
Jeff also spearheaded the firm’s implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework and he serves as Grand Wealth’s Integrator. Under Jeff’s leadership, he ensures that the EOS framework continues to provide a solid foundation for Grand Wealth as a long term sustainable business beyond his tenure. As Integrator, Jeff also provides key guidance for the leadership team.
Launching his financial career in 1986, Jeff founded Grand Wealth Management in 2004 to help people make intentional, sustainable decisions about their money. As an advisor who thrives on tending to details that others may gloss over, Jeff keeps a close eye on both the particulars and the long-term view to address families’ most challenging financial complexities.
Jeff, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), specializes in supporting highly successful business owners in the five to seven years before retirement, during the transition to retirement, and throughout retirement years. He supports his clients as they navigate the purchase, sale, and restructuring of assets, all while laser-focused on tax efficiency in line with his client's long term goals and objectives.
A wealth of experience and expertise
Prior to founding Grand Wealth Management, Jeff worked at Ernst & Young for 18 years, completing his tenure as principal. He served as director of Personal Financial Counseling Services for the firm’s West Michigan practice, and director of Investment Advisory Services for the Lake Michigan Area (including Chicago). In this capacity, Jeff oversaw more than $475 million in client investments.
“Early in my career, I was drawn in by how effective a multi-disciplined approach can be in managing clients’ tax, financial planning, and investment management requirements,” Jeff shares. “The more technical the financial pieces, the more interested I become in ‘solving the puzzle.’”
Jeff earned his bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Michigan State University and his master of science degree in taxation from Grand Valley State University.
Facilitating growth and teamwork
An industry leader, Jeff is regularly quoted in local and regional media. He has served as guest speaker at events for several statewide groups, including the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Western Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the Estate Planning Council of Northern Michigan.
Jeff’s expertise and passion for collaboration are at the foundation of his talent for facilitating teamwork in an ensemble practice. Positive and self-disciplined, he empowers each staff member at every level to be the best version of themselves. “He has the gift of understanding people at their very core and encourages each team members’ personal and professional growth, wherever that may take them” shares Anastasia K. Wiese, Senior Financial Advisor.
Having spent decades building his career and raising a family, Jeff and his wife are now transitioning into the “empty nest” phase of their lives. In his spare time, he enjoys kicking back with his now-grown children, as well as traveling and improving his golf game.
