Client Service Administrator

Owner

Providing individualized service

With a focus on client support, Doug prioritizes one-on-one relationships with Grand Wealth Management clients. He shares, “I believe in building relationships from the ground up. Without relationships, we're on our own.” This belief is foundational in his role helping clients cross off items on their financial to-do lists.

Daily, Doug supports the firm's advisory service team, coordinating with the broader team, managing client information, and fulfilling client service requests. He also assists with investment portfolio administration and a range of special projects aimed at adding value to the client experience.

Finding inspiration and gaining trust

Doug joined Grand Wealth in 2012, bringing his client service skills, financial analysis experience, and upbeat attitude to the team. “I love talking to people,” he says. “I’m energized by individuals and groups — anything social. I like to be the one who pulls everything and everyone else together.”

Before joining Grand Wealth Management, Doug was an associate at another boutique wealth management firm in Grand Rapids where he gained trust servicing experience. He also served individual and institutional clients while at Fifth Third Bank and the Cincinnati office of Legg Mason Investment Counsel.

Doug earned his bachelor of science degree in finance from Northern Kentucky University.

His acuity for hands-on support translates to a passion for his community. Doug sits on the board of the East Grand Rapids Community Foundation and volunteers with other charitable endeavors.

Doing what’s right

Doug believes it's imperative to get to know his clients on a deeper level and express his genuine interest in their financial well-being. “I've always been a big believer in doing what's right for the client, no matter how that impacts me or the firm,” he says. “Being transparent leads to a more successful relationship.”

He adds, “When clients start asking me about my life, I know I've made a very meaningful impact in theirs!”

As a Florida native, Doug is an avid golfer and water-sports fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Lori; son, Carter; and their golden retriever, Cooper. Also in his spare time, Doug enjoys cooking. You’ll be lucky if you get to taste his famous chicken and shallots dish!
